Esther is a climate expert and is South Pole's European project team leader with extensive experience in GHG accounting and carbon mitigation, land use and land-use change sector, carbon markets and Kyoto Protocol accounting. She has deep understanding and experience of national and international standards and GHG schemes, including the Woodland Carbon Code, Label Bas Carbone, Green Deal, VCS, GS, ACR and CAR. She also has operational leadership in project management, including leading several project feasibility assessments, project design documents, registrations, and coordination of interactions with standards.
Esther is a certified Expert GHG Reviewer for the UNFCCC and holds an MSc in Bio-engineering and Environmental Technology from the KUL in Leuven, Belgium.
Prior to joining South Pole, she has been actively consulting the Food and Agricultural Organization on technical development of REDD+ Forest Reference Emission Levels and GHG inventories for over five years.
