Tell us about your work at South Pole?

I'm based in the company headquarters in Zurich and I coordinate our emission reduction project activities worldwide. I am constantly in touch with our different local offices. I also work on aligning our IT tools with our procedures to ensure that all teams can work efficiently.

What inspired you to work at South Pole?

I believe that some of the biggest challenges for humanity in the 21st century can be solved by improving cost transparency. As long as the cost caused by pollution can be externalised, emitters do not have clear incentives to reduce pollution. I also believe that results must be measurable. I am convinced that results-based finance can be applied not only in the carbon world.

What is the best thing about working at South Pole?

Flexibility, team spirit, innovation.

What do you do when you're not in the office or at work?

I love to sail both on lakes and in the sea, and to hike in the mountains. Both are environmentally friendly activities. They allow me to fully appreciate the environmental elements and the surroundings.
