While natural gas is a cleaner of energy than fossil fuels, there is room for improvement. Exploration and distribution of natural gas as well as it's combustion, generates considerable CO2 emissions. Emission reductions from South Pole projects around the world can offset the carbon footprint natural gas.

In response to this global challenge, you can invest in the development and operation of emission reduction measures in developing countries by purchasing certificates from South Pole's climate protection projects. On top of that, many of our projects also fulfil other sustainability goals such as energy security, health, education, access to clean water and the preservation of biodiversity.

South Pole's global emission reduction projects meet or exceed established quality standards including the Gold Standard and Verified Carbon Standard (VCS). Each certificate is booked and recorded on a public registry and retired on behalf of the buyer.


The ECO-GAS Gold Label verifies climate neutrality. We compensate all emissions by investing exclusively in Gold Standard (GS) projects.

The ECO-GAS Green label verifies climate neutrality. We compensate all emissions by investing in Gold Standard (GS) or Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) projects.
