Senior Project Manager Americas

As part of the Project Development team, you will be responsible for sourcing, screening, planning, developing and managing projects in our Americas portfolio. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Renewables and Sustainable Technologies Americas and will closely collaborate with the teams located in Colombia, Mexico and other global offices to ensure an efficient and effective delivery of carbon emission reductions and renewable energy certificates, as well as other climate change advisories. In addition, you will be responsible for sourcing, business development activities and preparation of proposals for tenders in Mexico and other countries in the Americas. Tasks and responsibilities

  • Implementation and management of climate change mitigation projects under the CDM, VCS, Gold Standard and other upcoming international and domestic climate schemes
  • Development of renewable energy certificates
  • Support the sourcing team and lead screening activities to identify new project opportunities
  • Support business development, including targeted business meetings, financial analysis, proposal preparation and liaising with clients
  • Proactive networking with relevant organisations including potential project owners, technology providers, multilaterals, public and private entities, government agencies and others
  • Attending relevant gatherings and conferences and expanding the existing network

Your profile

  • University degree in Civil, Mechanical, Energy Engineering, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Sciences, Physics, Sustainability, Climate Change or Carbon Mitigation related fields, a Master’s degree is a plus
  • At least six years work experience in the field of climate change, preferably with experience in project management and development of CDM, VCS and Gold Standard projects
  • Track record of project development in Mexico and other Latam countries preferred
  • Able to manage and implement projects to generate carbon credits and renewable energy certificates, with a good level of independence
  • Ability to create high quality written documents (proposals and deliverables) in Spanish and English
  • Knowledge of mitigation technologies, including a wide range from renewable energy and energy efficiency to waste management technologies Knowledge of renewable energy certificate and greenpower products and markets is considered an asset
  • Enthusiastic in approaching potential new clients, generating new business opportunities, closing deals and meeting customer needs
  • Strong analytical skills, good pitching skills
  • Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel within Mexico and to other countries (minimum 10%)
  • National, or holder of a valid work permit in Mexico
