Pathzero is a guided, self-serve emissions management platform that enables organisations to achieve carbon neutrality for their operations. It was started by a carbon consultant and tech entrepreneur in 2020 to provide a simpler and more affordable way for businesses to join the movement to net zero emissions.
On the platform, businesses can measure their carbon footprint, select reduction initiatives, offset residual emissions and share their carbon neutrality with confidence.
Pathzero chose to partner with South Pole as their carbon offset provider. Pathzero selects certified emissions reduction projects from South Pole's global portfolio and offers these to their users to offset the emissions they report via the platform.
To automate this process, Pathzero plugs into South Pole's Alaska API for the delivery of the carbon credits. This automation ensures that as soon as a Pathzero user purchases offsets, they are retired and issued - ensuring efficiency and transparency for all parties.

Businesses using the Pathzero platform can choose to offset their emissions from a selection of South Pole's projects. These include renewable energy projects in Turkey and Thailand or a wind power project in Taiwan which also supports Australian biodiversity.
By shifting to renewable biomass instead of fossil fuels, five Thai cement manufacturing plants can substantially reduce their carbon emissions – leading to environmental and socio-economic benefits for surrounding communities.
Located in the town of Lapseki in Turkey's Çanakkale province, the Koru Wind Power Plant comprises 16 turbines spread across several hilltops. The project reduces Turkey's greenhouse gas emissions, whilst also contributing to the extension of the country's national power generation into wind power.
Nestled between the Coorong National Park and Lake Albert in South Australia, Mount Sandy protects one of the last pockets of bush and wetlands in the region. The project brings together non-Indigenous and Indigenous Australians by promoting land conservation using methods that have been employed by Traditional Custodians, the Ngarrindjeri people, for millennia.
