Carbon offsetting allow organisations and individuals alike to invest in environmental projects around the world in order to balance out their carbon footprints. These offset projects are often based in developing countries and are usually designed to reduce future emissions. Carbon offsetting has become increasingly popular over the past decade, but it has also been challenged. The International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA), a non-profit membership organisation, has responded to the main criticisms related to offsetting and I would like to summarise their thoughts for you in the following post.
