Leading sustainability solutions provider South Pole has renewed its partnership with Ethical Corporation, the leading platform for business intelligence for sustainability, to ensure the full climate neutrality of Ethical Corporation's summits organised in North America and Europe.
Ethical Corporation recognizes the impact of the event industry on the global climate, as well as the pressing need to reduce the carbon footprint of events through green strategies on energy and food consumption. In 2017, Ethical Corporation and South Pole managed to offset over 1,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. In 2018, both parties have renewed and expanded the scope of the partnership to limit the impact of Ethical Corporation's global event portfolio. Ethical Corporation will continue to explore sustainability strategies and compensate unavoidable emissions by investing in South Pole's climate protection projects.
"We as an organisation feel that it is important to look at our own impact and change the way that we do business for the better," says Liam Dowd, Managing Director at Ethical Corporation. "It is important for our customers to know that by attending our events, their direct impact from attending is reduced - in addition to learning about how to enhance their own sustainability work. We are proud to be supporting South Pole's projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America to offset our emissions"
"We are happy to work with corporations that realize their impact and take responsibility through climate action", says Melanie Wilneder, Senior Key Account Manager, Consumer Goods and Sustainable Supply Chains at South Pole. "True to their mission, Ethical Corporation continues to uphold the standard for more sustainable events."
