The recommendations of the FSB Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to the G20
marked an important step forward for mainstreaming climate-related risks and opportunities in financial filings.
The successful implementation of the recommendations will make a significant contribution to creating the needed transparency for enabling low-carbon finance and investment at scale, and managing the risks and opportunities of transitioning to a low-carbon future. However,
implementing
the
recommendations
presents
a
formidable
challenge.
This
panel
will
focus
on
those implementation challenges and illustrate how leading actors are taking action. Participants will discuss
the
data,
analytical
and
reporting
innovations
that
are
needed
for
mainstreaming
the
TCFD
recommendations
across
the
financial
sector
and
other
key
industrial sectors, with a particular focus on improved scenario analysis and climate risk indices for integrating climate risks in financial decision-making.
It will examine the risks and opportunities for a broad range of stakeholders, the steps required to move from
talk to action and the broader
implications
for
the
achievement of the
Paris
Agreement.
