In April 2019, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) will introduce major updates that enable companies to become climate leaders.
The SBTi will release new resources enabling companies to set targets aligned with a 'well-below 2°C' pathway, which under the SBTi's new criteria will become the minimum level of ambition accepted by the initiative. This is against the backdrop of the latest science from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) Special Report on 1.5°C of Global Warming, published in October 2018.
