Climate action in the aviation industry has really taken off. Over the next few months, airlines around the world will be on pins and needles, waiting to see what the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) global market-based measure scheme will entail. This September, we might witness yet another historic climate deal that will undoubtedly transform the aviation industry and set the precedent for mandatory industry-specific carbon reduction schemes.
In the meantime, over 150 airports have already demonstrated that voluntary collective climate action is a force to be reckoned with. These airports have taken unprecedented measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions through the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme, the world's first global voluntary industry-led carbon reduction initiative. The programme was launched by Airports Council International (ACI) and is independently administered by WSP | Parsons Brinckerhof.
The purpose of the webinar is to provide you with a "crystal ball" prediction of the possible implications of ICAO's global market-based measure scheme on the aviation industry. In addition, major international airports will join us to share best practices and lessons learned through their participation in the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme.
During the course of the webinar, we will provide answers to some of your most pertinent questions:
1. What are the key global trends that are inspiring carbon reduction efforts in the aviation industry?
2. How can I best prioritise and optimise my environmental action?
3. What is the most useful way to structure my work?
4. How can I become certified under the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme?
Please register for the webinar here (places are limited).
We encourage you to register even if you will not be able to attend the live broadcast. In that case, you will receive an email with a recording of the webinar.
We look forward to your participation!
