Analysis of renewable energy financing in ASEAN countries
South Pole, on behalf of the ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP), has successfully conducted a comprehensive analysis of the existing policy and financial support framework for renewable energy in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, where a specific focus was given to the three ASEAN member states: Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar. The study identified major barriers hindering private investments into renewable energy projects and developed a set of country-specific recommendations how to build a functioning support framework in which the private sector can contribute to the acceleration of renewable energy deployment in the region.
