Katrin is a senior professional with expertise in environmental, biodiversity, climate and sustainability policy and practice. She has over 20 years of work experience in working on environmental topics across different sectors and types of organisations, building networks and relationships with diverse stakeholders, influencing policy/decision-makers, and promoting innovative projects and initiatives at the national, EU, and international level. She gained her expertise in EU environmental policy while representing US, UK, and European organisations at the EU policy level (2014 to today).
Katrin has contributed to global environmental and climate initiatives such as the founding process of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the UN Decade on Education for Sustainable Development, and the Nature4Climate Initiative.
As Director Public Sector EU, her main responsibility at South Pole is engaging with public sector clients and raising funds for South Pole's offering on impact funds, climate and biodiversity research and innovation, action platforms, and large development assistance programs that have a climate change, biodiversity, or sustainability orientation.
