From Policy to Procurement: The EU Buyers’ Club Workshop

From Policy to Procurement: The EU Buyers’ Club Workshop

When
15 April 2026
Time
9:00-15:15
Where
European Commission, Directorate-General for Climate Action, Av. d'Auderghem 19, Brussels, Belgium

Join us in Brussels on April 15 for the launch of the EU Buyers' Club and become a founding partner shaping the future of the European carbon market.

This landmark event launches a voluntary, industry-led coalition to coordinate demand and accelerate high-impact carbon removal projects across borders.

Although the Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF) establishes the regulatory framework, a stronger demand signal is needed. An EU Buyers' Club would align EU ambition with corporate readiness and unlock investment at scale.

You will engage in a hands-on workshop to co-create and test pilot rules across 3 interactive workstreams.

On the agenda

  • 09.00-09.30: Welcoming
  • 09.30-10.30: Workshop 1 - Unlocking the market: Strategic alignment on regulatory signals and de-risking mechanisms.
Goal: Produce a non-binding Joint Statement of Demand to signal market maturity.
  • 10.30-11.00: Networking break
  • 11.00-12.00: Workshop 2 - Designing Offtake Agreements: Defining the commercial term sheet for 10+ year investments to secure farmer bankability
Goal: Create a Buyer Requirements Paper as the club's actionable blueprint.
  • 12.00-13.30: Networking lunch
  • 13.30-15.00: Workshop 3 - The CRCF Rulebook: Aligning on requirements for credible Scope 3 GHG accounting and reporting
Goal: Develop Operational Guidance to ensure project outcomes are auditable, bankable, and follow best practices and frameworks.
  • 15.00-15.15: Conclusion
