Matt has over 10 years of experience in consultancy specialising in energy procurement and energy market advisory services including familiarity with topics such as PPA accounting treatment. Backed by client management skills, Matt has an extensive track record in providing tailored risk managed advice across global markets to a broad sector including government, water utilities, commercial and industrial clients.
Before joining South Pole, Matt worked for an Australian based climate consultant, ERM Energetics, where he advised clients on their optimal renewable energy strategies and led end-to-end PPA transactions including cohort/group aggregation models. Matt has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and a Postgraduate Diploma in Energy and Carbon Studies and is based in our Amsterdam office.
Sonya supports clients with understanding how they influence and are influenced by a changing climate. She focuses on developing GHG emissions inventories, setting decarbonisation targets, developing net zero roadmaps and crafting climate resilience strategies. Sonya supports clients across the food, industrial, power, aviation and services industries working with frameworks like the GHG Protocol, SBTi, Climate Active, TCFD and ISSB. Sonya's strengths include combining an analytical approach with pragmatism developed working in-house. Sonya holds a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, a Masters in Sustainable Development and a Climate Risk certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
Stephanie is a senior managing consultant with over 5 years of experience in GHG Accounting for organizations, products, and events, adhering to the GHG Protocol and ISO standards. She has supported numerous clients across diverse organizational structures and value chains in developing GHG inventories, establishing credible climate targets, and crafting emission reduction roadmaps. Stephanie excels in creating models and calculation tools for precise GHG emissions measurement and reporting. Previously, she conducted graduate research at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on atmospheric science and air quality studies. Stephanie holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.
Linda Kannenberg has 11+ years of professional experience through working on projects relating to GHG accounting, target setting, supplier engagement, sustainability reporting and carbon offsetting with German as well as international corporate and public clients. Before South Pole, Linda worked at the CDP, the German NGO atmosfair and taught CSR and sustainability management to economics students. She also holds a doctoral degree in economics with a focus on integrating environmental data into corporate reporting and accounting in her research.
Alice is a senior managing consultant at South Pole, specialized in climate strategies. Her work focuses on GHG accounting, science-based targets setting, decarbonization roadmaps, net zero strategies and carbon credit advisory.
Prior to South Pole, she worked at the non-profit CDP and guided major European companies across multiple sectors in their environmental journey. She also has a strong background in Agronomy as she gained experience as a Senior Global Ingredient Scientist at Mars and holds an MSc in Agronomy, Food Science and Agri-Business from Montpellier SupAgro.
Roby Crean supports UK companies in understanding and navigating the complexities of the carbon market, embedded in environmental strategies. With three years of experience at South Pole, he has a strong insight into the dynamics of the carbon market.
Himani Gupta is Head of Advisory for North America at South Pole, where she leads strategic partnerships with global corporations to design and implement ambitious climate strategies. With nearly 15 years of experience in corporate sustainability and decarbonization, she advises executive teams on embedding climate action into core business operations, strengthening disclosure readiness, and driving measurable progress toward net zero. Her expertise spans large-scale change programs that deliver sustainable competitive advantage, portfolio decarbonization strategies, transition planning and execution, and the integration of technological and digital solutions across operations and supply chains.
Himani holds dual master's degrees in Environmental Engineering and Technology & Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Fionna is a Managing Consultant on South Pole's Ambition, Targets and Transition team in North America. She has a broad range of management consulting experience delivering decarbonization roadmaps, GHG inventories, target-setting strategies, technical implementations, and organizational change management for Fortune 100 companies. She has helped clients develop and implement their climate programs across a variety of industries including retail, food & beverage and manufacturing & distribution. Fionna holds an Environmental Economics and Policy BSc from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed a fellowship with the Clean Energy Leadership Institute. She is currently an MBA Candidate and Baumhart Scholar at Loyola University Chicago.
Nav has served as a sustainability professional for over 12 years with a focus key accounts management and strategic partnerships. She has been with South Pole for four years, working with North American clients on their sustainability goals while building and supporting her sales team. As the Associate Sales Director for North America, Nav manages the sales teams for both the Certificate and Advisory Services Business Lines. She oversees business development and key account management activities in the region, and specializes in Certificate sales for carbon credits and environmental attribute certificates.
