As such, the company is increasing the amount of packaging material derived from renewable forest plantations and using entirely recyclable carton packaging, while it is also committed to reducing its carbon footprint. By signing the global platform RE100, and with the help of South Pole Group, the Swedish multinational is committed to improve its energy efficiency and to utilize renewable energy sources for 100% of its electricity consumption at plants around the world: "Tetra Pak has committed to increase the share of renewable energy production from 20% to 100% by 2030.".
