For the last eight years, Australia-based carbon offsetting company Climate Friendly, subsidiary of global sustainability solutions company, South Pole) has supported the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) by calculating and offsetting its carbon emissions with carbon credits from high-quality renewable energy emission reductions projects.
UEFA's fifth Football and Social Responsibility Report showcases the company's social responsibility achievements, highlighting those achievements of the 2016/17 season. Amongst the achievements mentioned is UEFA's near decade-long partnership with South Pole subsidiary, Climate Friendly.
The partnership between Climate Friendly and UEFA has led to the offsetting of 189,637 tonnes of carbon emissions in the last eight years; 24,037 tonnes of that were offset for the UEFA's 2016/17 season.
