South Pole promotes Kushal Bhimjiani to Group General Counsel

19 April 2024, Zurich: South Pole, the leading carbon project expert and climate consultancy, is pleased to announce the promotion of Kushal Bhimjiani to Group General Counsel (Global Head of Legal & Compliance), effective immediately.

The move follows her appointment as General Counsel (Corporate, Regulatory & Compliance) earlier this year. In addition to her new position as Group General Counsel, she will also continue in her role as the company's Corporate Secretary, counselling the Board and Executive Committee on corporate governance matters.

Shalin Kaur, Regional Head of Legal for APAC and Global Employment, was appointed Assistant General Counsel in January 2024 and she will continue in this role.

As South Pole continues to optimise its organisation, Kushal's promotion reflects a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and regulatory compliance in line with best practices. Her leadership will support the Legal & Compliance teams in close coordination with the company's newly appointed CEO, Daniel Klier, and Chief Risk Officer, Antoine Prédour. Kushal's extensive experience will allow the company to adapt to different market and regulatory dynamics, ensuring the business is equipped to meet the changing expectations of regulators, clients, and the market at large.

Kushal Bhimjiani is a qualified English solicitor with 12 years of experience in renewables, infrastructure, banking and finance, investments, special situations and restructuring at global law firms Milbank, Norton Rose Fulbright and Herbert Smith Freehills. She is a graduate of National Law School of India, Bangalore.
