Cat Hiep Solar Power

Powering Vietnam’s economic development with solar energy.

Cat Hiep Solar Power

With a growing increase in modern industrialisation, Vietnam’s energy demand is rising at an estimated minimum of 8% each year. However, the country is already unable to keep up with demand and frequent electricity shortages are hindering economic development. Until now, the national grid has been reliant on fossil fuel based power, which contributes to rising levels of planet-warming gases in the Earth’s atmosphere.

The Solution

This project reduces the use of fossil fuels by installing a 49.41MW solar plant, constructed over 60 hectares in Binh Dinh province. Thanks to over 149,000 solar panels, the endless energy of the beating sun is converted into clean electricity for Vietnam’s national grid.

The Impact

This project reduces Vietnam’s reliance on carbon-intensive energy sources, displacing fossil fuels and reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions. It drives Vietnam toward production growth and economic development, fulfilled by green and reliable power. It also boosts local economies, creating employment for local workers.
