Climate Week NYC (22-26 September) is an annual meeting point for all governments, businesses and civil society leaders who are eager to co-shape the low carbon future – South Pole Carbon is part of the club of innovators and will be represented by our CEO Renat Heuberger, who is a member of the Global Agenda Council on Climate Change at World Economic Forum, and Director Public Advisory Nadia Bohli.
One of the main underlying topics of this Climate Week NYC edition is the climate finance and unlocking its potential, of which South Pole Carbon has been a vocal supporter and more importantly a "doer".
We co-manage and perform due diligence of the newly established Swiss Clean Technology Fund set up by the Swiss Federal Government and financed by the CO2 levy. The fund's loan guarantees lower the hurdle for innovative companies to get the necessary financing for new technologies and renewable energies in place.
On top of that we have recently launched Carbon portfolio screener - an easy to use screener enabling institutional and retail investors to expand and strengthen their strategy on climate risk and impact.
It is in this context that South Pole Carbon strongly believes in the global potential of climate finance. Do you want to read what our CEO thinks about green bonds? Then read his latest blog on the topic in the Huffington Post here.
