Muireann Gibbons-Neff

Muireann is South Pole's regional lead consultant for North America. She has nearly a decade of experience in management consulting and corporate environmental initiatives, with a focus on climate change and energy.

At South Pole, Muireann works primarily with private sector companies to develop their climate change strategies and deliver on sustainability goals. Leveraging her background in corporate strategy, growth, and innovation, she has led engagements with companies ranging from construction to consumer goods to develop multi-year programmes that cover risk and materiality, environmental footprinting, emissions reductions and target-setting, renewable energy, climate disclosure, and progress towards “net zero." She has particular expertise in working with heavy emitters across industrial sectors and manufacturers, including oil & gas and chemicals, as well as financial services.

Previous employers include Deloitte Consulting, Innosight, and the World Economic Forum, where she was a part of the Climate Change & Environment team. Muireann has lived and worked in the United States, Switzerland, the UK, and France. She holds an MSc in Environmental Economics & Climate Change (with Distinction) from the London School of Economics, and a BA in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
