There is currently a dearth of financing for Indian cleantech ventures, which restricts their scale-up and India's opportunity to achieve net zero by 2070. A study commissioned by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and carried out by South Pole and the Climate Policy Initiative (CPI), assessed the feasibility of establishing a credit guarantee instrument to solve this problem. This webinar will introduce and disseminate the study findings.

Speakers:

	Mr. Vaibhav Jain, Senior Manager, Sustainable Infrastructure Finance, South Pole Vaibhav was part of the team of experts who undertook the feasibility study for the cleantech SME financing. During the webinar, he will give a general introduction and summarise the key messages from the panel discussion.
	Dr. Jonathan Demenge , Head of Cooperation, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Dr. Jonathan Demenge is the Head of Cooperation of the SDC. During the webinar he will give introductory remarks on the cleantech sector, barriers to financing and the objective of the study.
	Mr. Sudhendu Jyoti Sinha, Adviser, Infrastructure Connectivity (Transport), E-Mobility and Compliance Burden, NITI Aayog, Government of India Mr. Sinha, is an adviser to NITI Aayog, Government of India. During the webinar, he will give a keynote speech on the key programs and initiatives of the Government of India that enable financing for the cleantech sector.
	Mr. Vijay Nirmal, Associate Director, Climate Finance, Climate Policy Initiative, India Vijay was part of the feasibility study expert team. During the webinar, he will discuss the key findings focusing on the potential design of a credit guarantee instrument.

Panellist:

	Mr. Dhruba Purkayastha, India Director and Director USICEF, Climate Policy Initiative Mr. Purkayastha is CPI's India Director. He has over 20 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, credit rating and international development financing in Asian countries. He will be the moderator during the webinar.
	Mr. Anurag Mishra , Senior Clean Energy Specialist, USAID Mr. Mishra is an experienced energy specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the international affairs industry managing energy, economic growth, and sustainable development programs in South Asia. He will bring his experience of the USDCA framework in stimulating financing for key sectors to the webinar.
	Ms. Ekta Mehra, Senior Sector Specialist, KfW Development Bank Ms. Mehra is a finance professional with over 12 years of experience in development finance and investment banking. In the webinar she will introduce KfW's commitment to the cleantech and clean energy sector and share her views on the cleantech guarantee.
	Mr. Hormaz Pithawala, Deputy Vice President at Tata Cleantech Capital Limited Mr. Pithawala has extensive experience in financial services spanning across project and structured finance, fundraising and debt advisory. Tata Cleantech Capital is a first of its kind Private Sector Green Investment Bank with focus on climate finance and advisory services. During the webinar, he will discuss the key barriers in financing and how a CG facility can overcome these barriers.
