Operating a complex global logistics network, Envirotainer needed to embed sustainability across business units while meeting rising demands for transparency and accountability.
As Envirotainer expanded through acquisitions and rapid growth, the company made one thing clear: progress should never come at the expense of sustainability. As they aimed to be a leader in the industry, Envirotainer partnered with South Pole to build a credible climate strategy and transparent sustainability reporting framework, ensuring growth with integrity.
We supported Envirotainer in aligning with evolving sustainability requirements and regulations, such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Through a gap analysis, stakeholder interviews, and a robust double materiality assessment, we helped pinpoint key sustainability risks and opportunities across the business.
South Pole's digital platform, Luumo, supported this process by streamlining data collection and enhancing reporting readiness, making it easier to align with evolving standards. This clarity enabled Envirotainer to meet regulatory expectations with credibility and consistency while tracking progress toward net zero ambitions.

To strengthen Envirotainer's long-term roadmap, we helped define and validate their ambitious science-based targets, including one of the industry's most progressive scope 3 reduction goals. In just one year, Envirotainer achieved an 11.9% reduction in scope 3 emissions from its 2023 baseline. These reductions were supported by detailed carbon footprint accounting, targeted decarbonisation efforts, and renewable energy procurement. The company has maintained 100% renewable energy at production sites since 2014 and reached 92.7% renewable energy use across the entire Envirotainer Group, on track to hit 100% by 2030. We also supported Envirotainer in funding high-quality carbon removal projects, such as biochar and reforestation, to address the emissions they cannot yet mitigate through reduction.
Beyond compliance and reduction, we helped Envirotainer strengthen communications and stakeholder engagement. We enabled Envirotainer to communicate complex data clearly and effectively through strategy workshops, messaging alignment and GRI-referenced sustainability reporting—avoiding greenwashing and reinforcing their leadership in environmental responsibility. Our collaboration resulted in two consecutive years of branded sustainability reports that engage stakeholders with precision and transparency.
