Equip Outdoor Technologies (Equip), the company behind Rab & Lowe Alpine, has partnered with South Pole to measure its full carbon footprint for seven consecutive years. This has supported Equip’s net zero strategy and emission reductions, raising the bar for sustainability in the outdoor industry.
Equip is committed to reaching net zero by 2050. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain requires a robust emissions tracking system, a science-based carbon reduction plan, and long-term climate action support.

UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) supported
Equip, home to outdoor performance brands Rab and Lowe Alpine, is no stranger to the realities of climate change. Its customers and staff, deeply connected to the outdoors, expect environmental responsibility from the brands they trust, pushing for greater outdoor clothing sustainability.
In 2020, Equip began its journey to net zero, aiming to reduce its absolute scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 46% by 2030 and its total emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3) by 90% by 2050. Given that most of the company's environmental impact lies in the supply chain, tracking and reducing scope 3 emissions became a key priority.
South Pole provided comprehensive support: calculating Equip’s full carbon footprint, designing a climate strategy aligned with the 1.5°C climate goal and helping the company take meaningful steps toward long-term emissions reduction.
To address unavoidable emissions, Equip funded high-integrity climate projects, including Katingan Peatlands (Indonesia), Hong Phong Solar (Vietnam), and Thanh Hai Wind (Vietnam) contributing to beyond value chain mitigation of of 18,091 tonnes of CO₂e in 2025. These initiatives also contributed to 10 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Measuring Equip’s carbon footprint reveals the emission hotspots requiring prioritisation in the company’s Climate Strategy. South Pole has delivered key recommendations for tackling these hotspots, including:
With South Pole’s continued advisory, Equip will enact these recommendations and continue tracking progress towards their climate targets.
We're proud of the steps we have already taken to reduce our impact, but realise that we, like everyone, must do more.
By committing to Net Zero by 2050, we've adjusted our journey, enabling us to develop an improved roadmap for a more climate-conscious future. We continue to fund externally verified climate projects through South Pole as we still believe in accounting for the GHG we produce today as we advance our reduction pathway.
