Labels allow organisations to communicate their ambitious climate action to their key stakeholders.
As the number of companies claiming to take climate action grows, it is becoming increasingly important to share that action transparently. The South Pole labels are an external badge that can be used on websites, reports, packaging and other marketing materials to demonstrate that a company has taken real steps to decarbonise its business and that it is taking responsibility for its current emissions.
South Pole's robust methodology ensures that the claims you make align with the latest climate science.
The labels provide a structure for you to explain the climate action you have taken directly on your website.
Customers want to make informed choices about the products they buy and the brands they engage with. Our easily recognisable labels allow consumers to make decisions with their values in mind.
South Pole's climate neutral labels align with the latest findings of climate science and adhere to the best-practice reporting guidance from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG protocol) and PAS 2060, the leading international standard for demonstrating carbon neutrality.
To qualify for a climate neutral label, a company must:

The “100% Renewable Electricity" label is for companies wishing to demonstrate that they power their global operations with electricity produced from renewable sources, as part of their scope 1 and 2 reduction commitments along their Climate Journey. |

The “On the way to 100% Renewable Electricity" label is for companies wishing to demonstrate that they power as much of their global operations as currently possible with electricity produced from renewable sources. Due to regulatory barriers and a lack of sourcing options, it may not be possible to meet all of their scope 1 and 2 electricity consumption to achieve the “100% Renewable Electricity" label. |
Adopting renewable electricity within an organisation's operations is an increasingly popular way to reduce emissions, not only as a way to show climate leadership, but also to access cost-savings that can then be re-invested in further climate action, accelerating progress towards other sustainability goals.
