Powering Vietnam’s renewable energy transition

However, the country’s energy demand is growing at a rapid pace, and its renewable energy market is still in its infancy. This means that Vietnam relies heavily on fossil-fuel-based power, which releases harmful greenhouse gas emissions and is more costly for the country in the long run.

This project helps to combat these problems by installing a dam, powerhouse and reservoir in Vietnam’s northern Son La region. Thanks to this plant, the endless energy of the flowing river is converted into clean and renewable electricity for the country’s national grid.
