Energy from the sun to help solar-power Indias sustainable development
The second-largest country in the world by population, Indias energy demands are increasing exponentially as its booming economy grows. Diversifying Indias fossil fuel-dominated energy mix by investing in renewables is crucial for its continued development and future prosperity.
invested to improve access to education
of clean energy generated on average annually with wind energy
plus 84 temporary jobs created, boosting the local economy
reduced on average each year by preventing methane from entering the atmosphere
This greenfield project comprises five solar photovoltaic (SPV) locations in the Indian States of Telangana, Gujarat and Rajasthan, together with a total installed capacity of 205 MW. This grid-connected project supplies emissions-free energy to Indias electricity grid, replacing carbon-intensive energy sources.
The project promotes environmental and socio-economic wellbeing, as a renewable energy initiative that produces zero greenhouse gas emissions. Nearby communities will benefit from new job opportunities for both skilled workers and for power plant security positions and improved local infrastructure, as well as educational initiatives., and grants for schools and community temples.
