Meeting growing energy needs sustainably
Thanks to carbon finance, the wind energy industry in India is rapidly developing, introducing an environmentally sound and cost-effective alternative to meet the country’s growing power demand. With lowering costs, renewables are becoming more and more attractive, particularly in relation to relying on imported coal or nuclear for electricity.

This project installs and runs 84 turbines, to harness strong prevailing winds across the state of Tamilnandu. The project replaces fossil fuel generated electricity, instead exporting clean and renewable energy to the national grid.
By driving wind-generated energy, this project displaces harmful, fossil-fuel-based power, cutting the associated greenhouse gas emissions. As well as increasing India’s energy security, the project boosts long-term green growth by installing renewable energy infrastructure and creating job opportunities.
