Liliana is an expert with over 15 years of experience in the integral management of strategic ecosystems, protected areas, watersheds and restoration, afforestation, agroforestry, and improved forest management, with experience working with communities, private, NGOs, and government institutions. Priding herself as a strategic thinker, she is also a resourceful and committed leader with broad experience in market and policy drivers for advancing and scaling nature-based solutions, such as landscape and jurisdictional efforts.
Currently, as a Head of Implementation and Global Biodiversity at South Pole, she is championing the protection of biodiversity in the projects developed by South Pole, supporting companies on their sustainability journeys, and designing financial mechanisms that promote and foster the biodiversity market. She also provides advice on the development of compensation schemes for environmental services, including the development of monitoring systems.
